Bishop, CA—Ace High Country Lumber decked its halls with decorations, craft projects, bake sales, warming fires, lots of Christmas trees, and the Bishop Union High School Ice Hockey team helped make the evening (December 16, 2023), merry and bright with Santa Claus. The holi-yays at Ace High Country Lumber were a part of the fund raising for the BUHS Ice Hockey team, and the members, dressed in their blue and white jerseys, added to the excitement of the evening.
There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm among the BUHS Ice Hockey team members, as they served up baked goodies, and assisted with the crafting tables. Coach Ken Carpenter says there are currently 24 members of the team, and the players are a part of the LA Kings league, which starts its season at the LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes. According to the LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes, the facility is an Olympic-sized indoor ice rink offering the public skating sessions, with skate rentals, hockey, skate lessons, ice curling, and skate sharpening services. The Town of Mammoth Lakes welcomed the new facility early this month, and Mammoth Lakes Recreation and the Town of Mammoth Lakes “have launched an historic new, community driven partnership with National Hockey League (NHL) franchise, the LA Kings,” according to the Town’s website. The ice rink is located in the multi-use, Community Recreation Center, at Mammoth Creek Park. When summer rolls around the ice rink facility will become a multi-use center for other activities.
Ace High Country Lumber’s been involved in fund raising events throughout the year, and General Manager, Jeff Acree, along with all of the employees, have helped keep the spirit of the teams, front and center. Ace High Country Lumber is employee-owned, and the energy of all of the employees and their families really shines through with all of the events at Ace High Country Lumber.
